Poor Poor Ponce

So on the second day of our journey we decided to go to Ponce since neither of us had been… I didn’t even take any pictures of the downtown. Ponce was interesting to say the least, when we arrived we ended up in the middle of spring breakers partying out of their cars in the middle of the street for two hours. This experience blew my mind like no other, as a matter of fact it is still blown! Kids were hanging out of cars drinking and driving, when traffic stopped which was much of the time during a 1 mile stretch, girls and guys would get out of their cars drinking beer, gasolinas, and rum punches, and of course there was the dancing. When I say ‘kids hanging out of cars’ I mean literally, out the windows, out the doors, out the trunks, on top of cars, even climbing on top shaking them, not only this but the event was sponsored by Medalla Light and the police were present. Mind still blown.

We stayed downtown at Melia Hotel and ate at Lola which was the only place open, aside from the pretty square the city is dead, it is rather a sad sight, because you can see the potential of it being beautiful. I don’t see any reason I would return other than to visit the museum which I’ve heard is lovely.
